Monkey
& Bug's Night
at The Corn Stand Jam!
-By Scott Smallwood
This amazing children's book was written by local philanthropist and author Scott Smallwood and was illustrated by local artist Hannah Tebbe.
This Readers' Choice Gold Winner illustrates issues of mental health in children, a dog and cat overcome their differences, become friends, and decide to visit the park together. Along the way, they meet new friends and learn to cope with sadness and accept individuality.
At the Corn Stand Jam, everyone danced and agreed that there is always someone to talk to. It was obvious that all were unique just because a person likes other things or looks different than you doesn't make them bad.
ANYONE that has a young child needs this book!!
“I am so impressed with simple messaging and overall illustrations in this book. I have donated my copy to the local school system to add to their library list. I have also spoken with multiple educators to use this book as a model of what young children should be reading in these times of controversial children’s books. I hope our local school district and others will be satisfied with this wonderfully written book for all ages. Great Job !!!!!”
Such a great message for kids!
“Fun, easy to read story with a great message that being different is ok and to be your authentic self and find your tribe who will support you! Wonderful illustrations. Love that the proceeds go to charity to help kids with mental health struggles. Thank you for creating this wonderful book!”
